Well it sure has been a while since my last post. I've been living in california while tyler is gone and sometimes its hard not to be on my own but most of the time I'm grateful for such supportive family and friends. Tyler is doing well in iraq and just trying to stay busy. Their starting to get everyone out of there so his job is now done by contractors which means there is not much for him to do now. But they need to keep a few of them there just in case in the meantime so he won't be coming home early.

In other news we're in the process of trying to buy a condo in las vegas. It's a short sale so we're getting it dirt cheap! We're really excited but it is taking FOREVER. There is absolutely nothing short about a short sale. At least we started early but I'm just a little worried we won't have a place to live when tyler gets home. But of course we will figure it out, we always do! We're both really excited and keeping our fingers crossed since nothing is final yet.

Tyler has been gone now for about a month 1/2... 4 1/2 more to go!! He's now working nights and likes that a whoooooole lot better. Now the temps only get in the 90's instead of 130 during the day! lol. Also the work load is a lot lighter at night because they can't do some of the jobs then. Overall he is much happier now. Working days was really stressful.

We just planned a Carribean Cruise for when he gets back and were soooo excited!!! I can't wait. I've been wanting to do this one for years. The ship sails out of miami FL and then we go to all sorts of destinations in the carribean. Were doing the east islands. Hopefully we'll get some friends to go along with us too!

Before Tyler left I begged and begged to let us take some pictures with a photographer... and guess who won? :) So up top are pics with the photographer and before Tyler left. I'm not very good with this blogging thing because I couldn't get this text above the pictures! If someone knows how please let me know :)

So Many Changes

Okay so i lied since the last time i blogged... i said i would post more often and well that hasn't happened! Oh well... i try my best. Not sure how many people read this anyways!

Well... what has been going on with us??? I FINALLY GRADUATED from cosmetology school at the end of May!! Thats a big one! It felt like i was in school forever... the program usually takes less than a year but since i moved 3 times during school and had to go to 3 different schools it took me almost a year and a half! I am soooo glad to be done! Now i am just waiting to take my stateboard tests and then i will be licensed! I can't wait!

Other BIG NEWS??? Well this is a mighty important one... Tyler got deployed to balad iraq :( Booo!!! i know... thats what i said! So that is a major reason why i haven't stayed updated on this thing! We found out in the middle of may he was leaving june 12th... which was yesterday! SUCH SHORT NOTICE!! Right??? i like was uuuuuhhh.... excuse me? When? lol. But after i let it sink in and gave it some thought i came to terms with it. Did we know it was going to happen? yes. So soon? NO!! but thats besides the point... being in the military you have to be prepared to just go with the flow! And thats what we've been trying to do. He left yesterday and comes baack in december... it should be right before christmas. His return date is december 20th but that can vary so i will be happy if he is home before christmas. So that makes a total of 6 months... which don't get me wrong its a LONG time but it could be longer... like a year. So im satisfied with that. We also decided that i will move out of our house in las vegas and i will move back home with my parents. Hassle? yes. Worth it? probably... and wayyy less lonely. There's just a sense of emptiness in our house now that i would like to avoid :) Thats pretty much the news with us so far...

Tyler took my camera to take pictures so i will put some up when he emails them to me. He also has the pictures on my camera that i wanted to put with my post of when he left and such so i will have to put that up later. As for now these graduation pictures will have to do! There out of order but im too lazy to fix it!!

Well considering i haven't posted anything in a couple months i figured its time for an update right? Let's see... since the air show we have stayed pretty busy. I go to cosmetology school 5 days a week for 40 hours and tyler does the same for work. So far tyler likes his job because it is something useful in life and plus he's just a handy guy. Because of summers here in vegas though he's really.... and i mean really... not looking forward to working this summer. With 110 degree weather and being very dry outside he will have to be climbing on roofs, through attics and all sorts of other stuff while being in his very heavy abu's and boots, so that will not be fun. I'm sure he will remind me everyday to make sure the ac in the house is set to FREEZING. As for me and school... 2 more months! i cant wait. it feels so close but yet so far. Although after i graduate, which is may 29th, it takes another 2 months for me to actually get my liscense. First I take my written test and then on a seprate day i go back for my practical test. I'm not worried though... shoot this is my 3rd school i think ive got this in the bag. :)

Other exciting stuff? Well in july were going to Alaska for a couple weeks to visit some friends. In Anchorage to be exact. Were visiting tyler's best friend from boot camp whose wife has become one of my really good friends. They have actually just recently asked us to be the god parents of their newly born son michael, so were pretty excited about that. Were actually going to try and get stationed in achorage next year so we will see what happens. And ya i know what your thinking... ALASKA??? But let me tell you why. 1... Being in alaska would be 1,000 times better for tyler's job being that he works with chillers and boilers and what not. The colder the weather, the better for his job. 2... We have really good friends who live there! and 3... Alaska is beautiful!

Other than that we have just had lots of friends and family visit and are enjoying time together!

And for the future ill try and post more frequently because im sure im forgetting a thousand things. I'll do my best!

Air Show

Well Tyler had to work 11 hours the day of the air show, which this is his first saturday having to work in the air force but he worked with all the VIP's so we let this one slide :)... not that we had a choice of course. This was the first time both of us witnessed an air show and let me tell you its AMAZING!!! I'm just so proud to be married to someone who takes part in the Air Force and all that they do.

Whether its at an Air Show or at their daily job or at a deployment, I'm so thankful and proud. Frankly, if you do not care about those men and women who fight for our freedom on a daily basis, whether it be on a base or in Iraq or wherever else they may be than don't talk to me about it. Just being around these men makes you so thankful for what they do so that we don't have to and so that we can sleep well at night. No matter their position, rank, military field, or location they all fight for our freedom and are the bravest men I know. And my husband happens to be one of them... Just had to get that off my chest :)

The Thunderbirds were of course the favorite planes and the main attraction. The main part of the show had 6 Thunderbirds which did crazy stunts and tricks. These planes literally flew right over our house on base. The above picture is us watching the planes at the flight line.

Thoughts

Well I felt like I should write a little something so here it goes.

We have lived in north las vegas now for almost 2 months and we love it here. It's great to be able to see Tyler everyday and live a normal married life... well somewhat normal anyways. We will most likely be here for at least 2 years, im hoping for at least 4, and were definitely trying to stay here for as long as possible.
Tyler got called to be in cub scouts in church and i have to admit i saw it coming. He likes being dirty and doing all that boy stuff. I always told him he would be called into boy scouts one day and tyler always thought i would be called to young womens or primary... and I got called to young womens!
I can't believe that our one year anniversary is only a week away. We have had a wonderful year. The military didn't make it so easy but overall we have grown so much and were both thankful for that and completely happy and content with all the decisions we made this past year.
We have made some really good friends too that live on base and who are also from church. We have movie nights and hang out with their kids. I can't get over how convenient it is to live on base... unless a base we go to has bad housing i think we will probably always live on base. Until we want to invest in a house of course.
I for one am suppossed to start school on the 25th. We will see how that goes... its been very difficult and frustrating getting my hours to nevada and working with the school to get things going. Plus i have to wear nice black clothes everyday now! And I don't have any!! Well now i have a few after my wonderful mom and sister came to visit and go shopping :)
On a heavier note the past day and a half I have really reflected a lot on my life and my beliefs after the passing of my wonderful and beautiful aunt. She was a courageous women who always showed strength and love and she is missed dearly. I love my family so much and could not imagine not having them. Eternal families are such a blessing.

New Base & New House

Well we lucked out and only had to wait 2 days to move into the base housing and we've already lived here for a month! We LOVE our house and living on base is so convenient. Everything we need is literally right up the street... half the time we walk. And Tyler only fills up his truck like 1 time a month, 2 max because his shop is only a mile away! It's sooo nice and you don't realize it until you move on base. Were very happy with our decision. We have a 2 bedroom 1 bathroom house with a living room, dining room, a large kitchen, a laundry room, and a one car garage. Perfect for our size. And the best part is we don't pay a dime for it!... Well other than signing your life away to the military I guess... minor detail right? Here's a pic...

Some people may find this strange but its actually kinda weird living together! We've been married for almost a year now and we really have only lived together the first 2 months of our marriage. Tyler gets to come home on his lunch break and comes home for the day at 3:30 so its great but at the same time were not used to seeing each other so much lol. A lot of that is going to change though because I'm hoping to get back into school in the next couple weeks and I will be going tuesday through saturday 8 to 4:30 so we won't see each other as often. We have come to find though that you cherish the moments you have together more when they are limited. I've got about 6 more months and then I FINALLY graduate. The program is only suppossed to take a year but by the time I'm finished it will have taken me a year and a half... but I wouldn't change a thing because it meant I got to be with my hubby! Even if he couldnt live with me. Now I'm just waiting for my hours to get here from the Texas Stateboard... keep your fingers crossed for me to get here soon!

We've moved... AGAIN!

Well we got to Las Vegas NV last night and so far things are looking like they are going to work out pretty good! It will be nice to only be 4 hours away from our friends and family now. Right now we are staying in a hotel until Tyler figures out everything with the base housing. We have the option to either live on base or off base. We are most likely going to live on base since there are so many benefits to doing so. Such as you don't pay rent, electricity, water, or trash... your much safer... and they have brand new housing that we can pretty much get right away!! Were so excited. Normally the waiting list for housing at this base (Nellis AFB) is 1 to 2 months but right now their so desperate for people to live on base that we can get it right away! So it seems like were getting pretty lucky. Keep your fingers crossed for us! I'll share pictures once we move in and get settled.

Celebration Cruise

Well i have a lot to update everyone on... since Tyler has graduated Tech School we have left Wichita Falls Texas and visited home in CA for 10 days. Right after we got home we left for a 5 day cruise with our friends Mike and Allie. We went to Catalina Island and Encinada mexico and it was so much fun! Tyler and I love cruises and were definitely going on a lot more. We've been married almost a year and we've already been on two! So anyways it was Mike's birthday and Tyler just graduated so we had a lot to celebrate. Here's some picures.

We had sooo much fun! We love cruises... we recomend the 7 day mexican riveria as the best one so far! But next is the Carribean cruise so that one may top off the mexican riviera after we go on that one :)

Coincidence or fate???

So Tyler and I had the craziest thing happen to us on Saturday (August 15th... the date is important as i explain)! We went to get lunch at this cute little hole in the wall chinese restaurant. After we were done eating we of course had to open our fortune cookies! And when Tyler opened his he just starting freaking out because this is what it said:

So for all of you who know Tyler and I were married on November 15th. Which was exactly 3 months from that day... just like the fortune cookie said!! Tyler assumes that he's going to get a pretty awesome anniversary present now since it says "Good things are in store for you" lol. So now I've got to think of a really good present! But anyways we were totally tripped out by it. I mean out of the 365 days in the year to get any random fortune cookie we got the one that fit exactly to our lives! I know this sounds totally supersticious or whatever but we thought it was pretty cool.

A much needed visit

This past week my friend lyndsey came to visit me! i was so excited to hang out with her and catch up because we hadn't seen each other since January! We both have been in different states and so busy so i was glad to find the time to visit. We did a lot of relaxing, hanging out by the pool and catching up on each others lives.

I will always remember one of the funniest things we did when she was here. I had been needing a retouch on my hair color so lyndsey helped me dye my hair. Then when we were done with my hair we decided to dye Lyndsey's eyebrows!... and then we had the crazy idea to give my cat junior highlights!! ha ha... but just a bit of background for ya i absolutely adore my cat junior and this is in no way hurt him! he actually had no idea he had any color on his little head! lol. So we just put a couple streaks on the top of his head. It was the funniest thing because he had no idea what was going on. Heres a pic of the three of us! We look ridiculous but oh well!!

I'm so glad she came to visit! One of the other fun things we did was go to the annual Texas Ranch Roundup! It was so much fun!! It was kinda funny cause we were the only ones there without cowboy hats. Everyone was probably staring at us but we had a lot of fun. We definitely stuck out with Tyler and his military friends there! Here's some pics.

These are all the people who participated in the rodeo. How it works is Ranch's from all over Texas came to Wichita Falls for the annual rodeo. Each Ranch had a team of 3 or 4 people and their horses.

Time to pack again

Well were off to vegas in just a few short weeks! And I really need to start packing! I love our apartment here though so it makes me sad to move again. By the time Tyler and I will have been married for a year we will have lived in 3 different states!!! Thats crazy but I think its cool because we really want to experience a lot in life. I hate packing, especially since I'll have to do it by myself. Were driving back to cali to visit for a couple weeks and then we will go to vegas. The drive is going to be 18 hours.... but I've done it before so I can do it again! And my wonderful parents have offered to fly out and help us drive back since we have both our cars so that is going to be very helpful.

This week has been fun because Lyndsey came to visit me! I really missed her and its been good to hang out again. The last time we saw each other was in January! Time flew by. Today we embraced being in Texas and went to walmart and got Texas t-shirts! We had fun trying to decide which ones to get because if you don't know how texans are they are very prideful of their state so there was lots to choose from!

Were really looking forward to seeing friends and family but until we get there it will be lots of work! I have lots to do until then but for now I am just enjoying our last few weeks here.

Our adventure continues...

Well im still trying to get used to this whole blog thing. I'm not very good at it but i try my best. :) Tyler and I are at a great point in our lives. Were coming up to our one year anniversary and are on a grand adventure! I am loving the new experiences that the military life brings. I find it such a blessing to be able to see different parts of the world, and not just going places but experiencing life with new people. People in Texas really do have southern hospitality. It's been a wonderful experience.

In about a month we are heading off to las vegas nevada. We are pretty excited. It will be nice to be a little closer to home and only be a drive away... but its still far enough away to be away. lol We are looking forward to the adventures we will have there. And after that we are trying to go overseas! So we will see how that goes.

This past weekend i was able to see my wonderful sister! I love her so much for coming to see me. It was a very short visit but i was so glad she made the trip. She is the best sister. I'm looking forward to seeing all of our family very soon. Both Tyler's family and my family have been very supportive of us and we are very thankful.

First post!

Well life has become quite an adventure these past few years... Tyler and I dated for about 2 and a half years before we were married on November 15, 2008 in the Los Angeles LDS temple. It was the best experience of our lives and the best decision we ever made. Little did we know where life would take us!
After we were married and went on a very long honeymoon we lived in an apartment in Whittier CA for 2 months. And the entire time we lived there we were dreading the upcoming months of February through April when Tyler would be leaving to go to basic training for the United States Air Force. Tyler left February 2nd, 2009 and was gone for 2 months. While he was gone I moved back home with my parents and sister, which looking back was a very good move for me since it helped not being alone while he was gone. While he was in basic i was attending cosmetology school monday through friday from 8 to 4:30 so keeping busy helped a lot!! I eagerly awaited Tyler's graduation and when the day finally came (April 3rd, 2009) I had so many different emotions but most of all I just was glad that that he was done. Both my mom and I went to his graduation in San Antonio. And as soon as the first part of the 2 day graduation was over and family and friends were allowed to go find their airman i sprinted into his arms!!! We were both very happy to finally see each other again. While he was gone i got letters here and there and a very short phone call about once a week or so. Which was not very much at all!!
Since his graduation life has been much better... a little easier too. Tyler has been in tech school in Wichita Falls TX. His job is HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning) which was not what we anticipated but nonetheless we are very happy with his job and he enjoys it. Once he graduates tech school on Sept 2nd, 2009 we are off to La Vegas NV for 2 years. So were looking forward to that!! After that we don't know yet but were hoping to go overseas... yes overseas. :)
And for all you who are wondering how long we anticipate living the military life... were planning on making this tyler's career. Were excited for the adventures we will have and the places we will see. We see it as a big oppertunity to do a lot in life. Of course there is a price to pay such as the possibility of deployment and moving every couple years but so far we feel its worth it. The military life is an adjustment but we defintely are enjoying it. We have no regrets about it.
As for me I'm still finishing cosmetology school and plan on working in a salon after i graduate. I look forward to the adventures we will have and can't wait for what the future holds. :)
